He was the regional director of the Industrial Engineering department for 5 years and director of the Industrial Engineering department at Campus Monterrey for 8 years.
He specializes in modeling, analysis and improvement of processes in the supply chain, logistics and decision making.
He has been leader of national and international projects such as Operation Excellence Benchmarking for the company Magotteaux in Navarra Spain and Monterrey Mexico, Development of solutions for process improvement with the Global Analytics staff of Cemex Strategic Plan-New Engineering for 2030 for the University of Los Lagos in Puerto Montt, Chile, among others, as well as consulting on projects such as the analysis of resources and inventories using simulation, Work studies, standardization of operations, establishment of order fulfillment and shipping processes, product routing, and synchronization of operations in several companies such as GRUMA, Tubacero, Sigma Alimentos, Hussmann, Honda, Daltile, Carza, Magotteaux Vitro Flotado, Sisamex and Nemak, among others, as well as the INVITE project within the framework of the Strategic Program for Logistic Development of the State of Nuevo Leon. Dr. Garcia is part of the Editorial Advisory Board of Supply Chain Management: An international Journal.
In terms of continuing education, he is coordinator of the diploma course in supply chain, has been instructor of modules related to process reengineering for Femsa Empaque and Vitro, as well as operations management in the competitiveness of the business, within the diploma course in Engineering Management for Whirpool.
He has also been the coordinator of the Industrial Engineering research tables in Latin America for the annual conference of the Institute of Industrial Engineers in 2010 and 2011. He was advisor to the students who won first place worldwide in the simulation contest organized by Arena-Rockwell Automation in 2013, Dr. Garcia is co-author of the book Simulación y Análisis de Sistemas con Promodel.
In terms of publications, Dr. Garcia has published in several conferences of the specialty and in specialized journals such as Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Sustainability among others.
He was a member of the CENVAL Technical Council for the Industrial Engineering career for 5 years and member of the CACEI Technical Commission for Industrial Engineering also for 5 years. He has participated in the curriculum revisions 2000, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2019.
He is a member of the EAAC team for IIS, has led the organization of the Industry 4.0 Forum in its second (2020) and third edition (2021). He has also been recognized by the Industrial Engineering and Operetaion Management (IEOM) with the "teaching award".
He has been invited as a speaker at conferences in Paraguay and Colombia. He has given training courses in Panama, Honduras, Chile, Colombia, and Peru on topics related to operations management and digital transformation.
