Semblance
Fernando Camacho holds a degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Physical-Mathematical Sciences at UANL, a Master's in Engineering Sciences with a specialization in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with a specialization in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level II, a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, and holds the PRODEP desirable profile.
He has supervised 5 doctoral theses, 12 Master's theses, and 3 Bachelor's theses, in addition to overseeing 3 postdoctoral research projects. In 2015, he received an award for supervising the best Master's thesis at UANL in the field of natural and exact sciences. He has delivered keynote speeches at national and international conferences and has organized several high-profile academic events. He was also the President of the Mexican Society of Operations Research and is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Mexican Mathematical Society.
His research interests include solving operations research problems, with a particular focus on the theory and applications of bi-level programming, as well as the design of exact methods and heuristic techniques to solve such problems.
